For its tenth birthday, Clerkenwell Design Week put on its biggest party yet. And we were no different as we turned 79 Clerkenwell Road into the Workspace Wellness Hub.
This one-stop shop for designers, architects and workplace professionals offered people the chance to see (and hear) first-hand how our innovative approach to flexible space and acoustics aid employee engagement and wellbeing, and help shape the perfect workspace.
The show stealer was the introduction of new zones made from Constructif. From enclave to work desks, Constructif was utilised in different ways as a tool to aid collaborative and agile working.
Another talking point at 79 Clerkenwell Road was the new panel finishes for Float, the agile moving panel system.
Given that office workers spend, on average, around 90% of their time inside, there has been a concerted movement to design office spaces that have a clear connection to nature.
With that in mind, we developed a moss moving wall panel – an installation that really captured people’s attention!
Also debuting at Design Week were pegboard and interchangeable panel finishes, as further aids to agile and collaborative working. Or in the case of our pegboard panel, we opted to decorate it with draping plants and succulents to continue with the themes of biophilia and wellness.
However, the big event was the three-day golfing extravaganza officially known as the Clerkenwell Classic. Held on a demanding course made from Mellow, competitors from the office interiors community vied for the coveted Red Jacket, winners’ trophy and the £150 top prize.
When it was all said and done, it took a near-perfect round to claim victory. In front of the cameras, Scott Douglas from OE Electrics carded an eleven under par (-11) seven to walk away as the champion of Clerkenwell.
We’d like to thank everyone who came through the doors of 79 Clerkenwell Road during CDW2019 and we hope to see you all again next year.
